Hockey Season Kickoff: STL Referee Scholarship Winners Announced

Fall hockey is officially underway in St. Louis. With the NHL season in motion and the St. Louis Blues’ home opener complete, rinks across the region are buzzing. From youth, amateur, and AAA programs to high school, ACHA, and NCAA hockey, the local hockey community is back in action.
Behind every game is a crew of dedicated officials working hard on and off the ice. For many referees, the start of hockey season coincides with the start of a new academic year. Balancing game assignments with college coursework demands discipline, focus, and time management.
At STL Referee Scholarships, we support the officials who keep local hockey moving forward. We are excited to announce our newest scholarship recipients, outstanding officials who demonstrate leadership, integrity, and dedication both on the ice and in their studies.

Officiating teaches lessons that extend far beyond the rink, including quick decision-making, conflict resolution, accountability, and poise under pressure. These are the exact qualities that make great students, professionals, and community leaders.
As our scholarship recipients take the ice for the new season while studies occupy their weekdays, we are proud to provide financial assistance to help ease their educational journey.
Please join us in congratulating Braden Tillet, Chase Vogelsgang, and Kevin White on their well-earned scholarships. We wish them, as well as all St. Louis officials, players, and teams, a safe, successful, and unforgettable hockey season.
